Busy week for FCFC with Primary school Girls Tournament, Halloween Party, Club Coaching and Team Football too ⚽️

FCFC had a busy week, starting on Friday with the Girls Primary School Tournament.
What a turnout! It was brilliant to see 167 girls, aged 5 to 11, all competing and having fun. The day had it all—hot sunshine, sudden downpours, penalty shootouts, cheering fans, and amazing displays of sportsmanship and kindness.
Congratulations to the winners:
Year 1+2: Farnborough Road Infants
Year 3+4: Our Lady of Compassion
Year 5+6: St John Bosco
A huge thank you to LCFA for providing the pitches free of charge, and to Football for Change for the medals. We can't wait to welcome the schools back in the New Year!
Saturday morning’s Girls RDF training saw lots of new faces thanks to the tournament.
Alongside our current teams, it was fantastic to see so many girls enjoying their football in the lovely weather. With all this new talent, we’re so close to forming our U7 girls’ team we just need a few more players! If you know any budding footballers, please get in touch at tinafcfc@outlook.com.

Spooktacular Saturday Halloween Party ?

In the afternoon, Wall of Fame hosted a private Halloween party just for us, and it was a fantastic event!
The kids donned some amazing costumes and were all treated to food, drinks, games, music, face painting, and party bags. A massive thank you to Wall of Fame for their generosity—it’s much appreciated!

Team News ⚽

Unfortunately, many games were called off this weekend due to Storm Ashley and flooding. But here’s what happened for the teams that managed to play:
FCFC U6s:
Two wins for the U6s this weekend! Game 1 against Apollo River was a tight contest for the first two periods, with just a goal separating the teams. FCFC pulled ahead in the last 15 minutes to secure the win. In Game 2, we faced Bull, and despite a slow start, we quickly took control. Everyone had chances to score, and Lincoln put in a player-of-the-match performance on his debut, even scoring from a clearance as a goalkeeper! Great work from all the U6s once again ⚽?.

FCFC U7 Falcon Boys vs Ormskirk West End:
The boys put in a hard shift this morning, and their effort paid off with a fantastic win! Devan, Jonas, Jagger, and Luca all found the back of the net, and it was tough to pick a MOTM because everyone worked so hard. Brilliant team performance today ?.
FCFC U9 Lion Boys vs Marina Sands:
Despite only having 7 players available (we were missing 4 from our squad of 11), the U9 Lions were heroic!
We took the lead with a superb strike, but Marina equalised soon after. The boys pressed for a winner, hit the post, and created plenty of chances, but it wasn’t to be this time. However, the performance felt like a win!
Special mention to two of our players who had their best-ever games for the Lions, and our new signing in midfield was an absolute star ?.
Shout-out to the Marina Sands coaches for their superb sportsmanship in voluntarily chalking off a goal.

FCFC U10 Fire Boys vs Ormskirk West End:
A draw for the U10 Fire Boys today!
We took an early lead but conceded from a corner in the second half. The boys worked hard to find a winner, but it wasn’t to be. We spent the last 20 minutes dealing with a barrage of long balls into our box, which made it tricky to create any clear chances. Still, it was a solid learning experience for the team.

FCFC U10 Rocket Boys vs 11 Soccer Blue:
In this game against a new team in the league, our experience really shone through. We kept our shape well, scoring early goals and creating plenty of chances. Zidane and Tom got us on the scoresheet in the first half.
At half-time, we focused on improving our finishing, and it paid off—Tom, Zidane, and Matthew added more goals in the second half. The most pleasing thing was how hard everyone worked for each other and kept passing, even with so many chances. Their keeper was fantastic and deserved player of the game for them.

FCFC U18 Boys vs Runcorn Town:
Wow, what a game! We knew it would be tough, especially with no subs, and it didn’t start well as we went 3-0 down in the first 13 minutes. But then the boys woke up, and a through ball sliced them open to make it 3-1 at 18 minutes. Just as the pressure was swinging in our favour, another long ball caught us out at 36 minutes.
At half-time, we talked through what went wrong, and the boys came out fighting. A quick goal made it 4-2, and when Calum completed his hat-trick to make it 4-3, we could see the nerves in Runcorn's team. We kept pressing and equalised at 4-4, only for Runcorn to snatch another goal right away. With a few minutes left, Jonah’s equaliser made it 5-5! What a comeback.
After being 3-0 and 4-1 down, we’ll take that draw any day!

FCFC U18 Girls vs Rainhill:
The U18 girls put in a great performance, beating Rainhill 5-1. Although we won easily last time, Rainhill came out stronger today and gave us a decent game. Still, our girls were too much for them in the end.

FCFC Ladies First Team:
The Ladies Firsts had a tough match, losing 4-1 with just 9 players. But we’ll regroup for next week’s game against Rainford Ladies. We’re currently looking for new players, so if you’re interested, contact James at **07842 688 574**. Training is on Thursdays, and games are on Sundays.
Don’t forget, FCFC offers a pathway for all ages. If you or someone you know wants to get involved, reach out to us!
